Identificación precoz del riesgo cardiovascular en adultos según aplicación de la escala de Framingham

Las enfermedades cardiovasculares constituyen la principal causa de morbimortalidad a nivel mundial. Actualmente son consideradas como un problema de salud de difícil solución. La identificación del riesgo cardiovascular permite identificar la probabilidad que tiene un individuo de padecer estas afecciones en los próximos 10 años. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar los resultados de estudios donde se aplicó la escala estimación de riesgo cardiovascular de Framingham en adultos. Para esto se realizó una investigación básica, descriptiva, documental y transversal consistente en una revisión bibliográfica. El universo estuvo constituido por 76 documentos, de los cuales 31 formaron parte de la muestra del estudio. Se identificaron artículos publicados en revistas indexadas en bases de datos regionales (Latindex, Scielo, Redalyc y lilac) y de alto impacto (Scopus, Ice Web of Sciencie, Medline y PubMed entre otras). Los principales resultados incluyen la identificación de las ventajas y desventajas de las principales escalas de predicción de riesgo cardiovascular que se utilizan en la práctica médica; también se identifica el papel no solo predictor que juegan estos instrumentos, sino como a partir de ellos pueden promocionarse salud y prevenir distintas enfermedades basado en la adopción de hábitos y estilos de vida saludables. Se concluye que la escala de Framingham no solo permite la identificación precoz del riesgo cardiovascular en adultos; sino que, el análisis individual de cada uno de sus componentes también puede ser utilizado para trazar acciones relacionadas con la promoción de salud y la prevención de enfermedades.
