Abstract

El Síndrome de Inmunodeficiencia adquirida, irrumpió en el horizonte clínico en 1981, año en que se diagnosticaron jóvenes homosexuales en los E.U. mostrando un patrón clínico cuyo denominador común inicial orientaba hacia una enfermedad infecciosa mortal trasmitida por contacto sexual.  En años subsiguientes se demostró que este procedimiento podía ser transmitido por vía sanguínea en hemofílicos, politransfundidos y drogadictos que compartían las agujas.
