Púrpura de Schonlein Henoch, presentación de caso

La púrpura de Schonlein Henoch es una vasculitis sistémica, que a nivel cutáneo se manifiesta como vasculitis leucocitoclástica, es caracterizada por la presencia de artritis o artralgia, púrpura palpable y angina abdominal, aunque puede presentar otras manifestaciones sobre todo renales y pulmonares. Se considera la púrpura más frecuente en niños y aunque en menor medida puede presentarse en edades adultas por el comportamiento bimodal que presenta. Presentamos una paciente de 44 años de edad que ingresa en el Centro Nacional de Reumatología mayo de 2012, presentando aumento de volumen de ambas rodillas y tobillos, síntomas generales, dolor abdominal difuso y púrpura palpable a nivel del abdomen y miembros inferiores.
