Síndrome de Guillain Barré como forma de debut en el lupus eritematoso sistémico

El lupus eritematoso sistémico es una enfermedad autoinmune, sistémica, caracterizada por la producción de autoanticuerpos y una amplia diversidad de manifestaciones clínicas. Dentro de las manifestaciones neuropsiquiátricas puede presentarse el síndrome de Guillain Barré el cual es una polirradiculoneuropatía aguda, frecuentemente grave y de evolución fulminante, de origen autoinmunitario. Se manifiesta como un cuadro de parálisis motora arrefléxica de evolución rápida, con o sin alteraciones sensitivas, estas características hacen de ella una emergencia médica. La asociación entre Guillain Barré y enfermedades reumáticas autoinmunes ha sido reportada; sin embargo, en algunos casos sigue siendo una combinación rara.
