Beta 2 microglobulina como marcador de disfunción renal en pacientes con enfermedades autoinmunes sistémicas

Las enfermedades autoinmunes sistémicas son padecimientos crónicos y potencialmente graves. La clave para su atención es el diagnóstico precoz y el estudio de la posible afectación de órganos fundamentales como el riñón, pulmón o sistema nervioso central. La lesión renal se pone de manifiesto directamente a partir de alteraciones histológicas en la biopsia renal o indirectamente por la presencia de albuminuria, alteraciones en el sedimento urinario, o a través de técnicas de imagen. Ya en desuso, la determinación de la concentración de Beta 2 Microglobulina se utilizó en la clínica práctica para la estimación del desarrollo de la enfermedad renal. El objetivo del presente artículo fue brindar una actualización sobre la importancia del uso de la Beta 2 Microglobulina como marcador de disfunción renal en pacientes con enfermedades autoinmunes sistémicas. La determinación de Beta 2 Microglobulina permite un diagnóstico rápido y confiable de la disfunción renal en EAS, por tener una elevada sensibilidad y especificidad. Además, facilita la distinción entre daño tubular y glomerular.Downloads
