Actividades de promoción de la salud en pacientes con Lupus Eritematoso Sistémico. Intervención sanitaria y educativa

Introducción: El lupus eritematoso sistémico es una enfermedad autoinmune, inflamatoria y crónica, de carácter sistémico que genera distintos grados de discapacidad funcional y afectación de la percepción de calidad de vida relacionada con la salud. La adopción de hábitos y estilos de vida saludable constituyen una necesidad en estos pacientes para minimizar el riesgo de parición de complicaciones.
Objetivo: Evaluar los resultados de una intervención sanitaria y educativa aplicada en pacientes con lupus eritematoso sistémico.
Métodos: Se realizó una investigación aplicada, diseño descriptivo y correlacional, que incluyó un universo de 37 pacientes con diagnóstico de lupus eritematoso sistémico, residentes en el cantón Riobamba, provincia Chimborazo. La muestra quedó conformada por 35 pacientes. Se aplicó una intervención sanitaria y educativa durante un periodo de 6 meses que incluyó como variables el estado nutricional, la práctica de actividades físicas sistemáticas y el nivel de conocimiento sobre hábitos y estilos de vida saludables. Se utilizó la prueba de McNemar para identificar cambios estadísticamente significativos en la práctica de actividades físicas.
Resultados: Promedio de edad de 37,59años, predominio del sexo femenino (91,43 %) y con comorbilidades asociadas (62,86 %). Durante el pretest predominaron los pacientes que no realizaban actividades físicas (82,86 %) y con bajo nivel de conocimiento sobre hábitos y estilos de vida saludable (68,57 %). Durante el postest mejoraron todos los indicadores.
Conclusiones: Se logra mejoría del estado nutricional, el nivel de conocimiento y la práctica de ejercicios físicos.
