Las publicaciones seriadas de salud han sido hasta la actualidad, el medio más apropiado para mantener informada a la comunidad médica de los avances más novedosos o puntuales que se logran dentro de esta ciencia, desplazando a los clásicos textos de medicina por editarse periódicamente, de manera más dinámica y económica, gracias en gran medida al desarrollo de la imprenta y la impresión en papel, pero los avances de los medios audiovisuales, la telefonía, y la cibernética han sentado las bases para el desarrollo de la informática, la computación y su introducción de manera inmediata en la medicina, dando lugar a un salto cuantitativo y cualitativo sin precedentes en el desarrollo de las publicaciones biomédicas.Downloads
