Conocimiento sobre fibromialgia en una muestra de adultos peruanos y españoles

La fibromialgia es una enfermedad reumatológica de carácter multidimensional, lo que puede ser causa de confusión para algunos pacientes como para quienes les rodean, sobre todo a la hora de lograr un manejo adecuado de los síntomas. Por ello, el conocimiento sobre la enfermedad puede ser de mucha ayuda para mejorar la calidad de vida de estos pacientes. El objetivo del presente estudio fue comparar el conocimiento en fibromialgia en una muestra transcultural peruana y española. Participaron 248 adultos de ambos países, a los que se administró un cuestionario online para obtener información sobre el conocimiento general de la enfermedad y su tratamiento. Se realizaron análisis inferenciales con el programa estadístico SPSS. Los resultados indicaron la existencia de diferencias significativas en ambos tipos de conocimiento según el sexo, el país de residencia, el estado de salud y el contacto directo con pacientes. Se concluye que el conocimiento sobre la enfermedad es mayor en mujeres, en adultos españoles, en quienes han sido diagnosticados de fibromialgia, y en quienes tienen a una persona con este diagnóstico dentro de su entorno cercano.Downloads
