Intervención de enfermería para mejorar la adherencia farmacológica en pacientes con diagnóstico de artritis reumatoide

Introducción: La atención de enfermería es considerada como uno de los pilares fundamentales en la atención prolongada de salud a pacientes con enfermedades crónica como es el caso de la artritis reumatoide; dentro de sus funciones destacan el monitoreo de eventos adversos medicamentosos, adherencia farmacológica, manifestaciones clínicas y posibles complicaciones que puedan presentarse.
Objetivo: Describir los resultados de una intervención de enfermería, mediante videoconsultas, para mejorar la adherencia farmacológica en pacientes con diagnóstico de artritis reumatoide.
Método: Se realizó una investigación básica, no experimental y descriptiva con universo de 83 pacientes con diagnóstico confirmado de artritis reumatoide residentes en comunidades rurales del cantón Riobamba; la muestra quedó conformada por 69 pacientes. La intervención incluyó videollamada diarias de lunes a viernes durante 3 meses, para monitorear, principalmente, adherencia farmacológica, aunque también fueron evalaudos otros parámetros como fueron signos vitales, eventos adversos medicamentosos, actividad física y nutrición.
Resultados: promedio de edad de 56,43 años, predominio de pacientes femeninas (76,81 %) y tiempo de evolución entre 3 y 6 años (39,13 %). El 73,91 % presentó comorbilidades, con predominio de la hipertensión arterial (41,18 %), hipotiroidismo (33,33 %) y diabetes mellitus (15,69 %). El 100 % de los pacientes calificó como saisfactoria la intervención realizada.
Conclusiones: La intervención de enfermería aplicada mejoró la adherencia farmacológica de los pacientes con artritis reumatoide; además se monitorearon otros elementos fundamentales relacionados con la evaluación y seguimiento en pacientes con artritis reumatoide. El uso de videollamada facilitó mantener un contacto adecuado con los pacientes.
