Se realiza un estudio retrospectivo de los pacientes peritados en el municipio 10 de Octubredurante el año 1995. De los 1149 pacientes peritados 240 (20,8 %) eran portadores de enfermedades
reumáticas solamente superados por Psiquiatría con un 23,4%, no obstante, el mayor porciento de
invalidez total correspondió a las enfermedades reumáticas con un 43,3%. La patologíamás
frecuente la constituyó la espondiloartrosis con un 47,5%, siguiendo en orden de frecuencia la
osteoartritis en otras localizaciones (15%), patologías de rodillas (7%) y la artritis reumatoide
(5%) El sexo femenino fue el más afectado 75,8 %. A los grupos etéreos 46-50 y 51-55 años
correspondió el mayor número de pacientes peritados (54,1%), así como el mayor porciento de
invalidez total (28,3%)
