Prevalencia de las enfermedades reumáticas e invalidez asociada en población urbana cubana atendida por el Médico de la familia: Aplicación del instrumento COPCORD
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo prospectivo transversal desde Enero hasta Noviembre de 1999aplicando el instrumento COPCORD a una muestra aleatoria de 300 adultos de 18 años y más de edad
pertenecientes al consultorio 44-1 del Policlínico Lawton en Ciudad de La Habana con el objetivo
de determinar la prevalencia de las enfermedades reumáticas y la incapacidad asociada a ellas.
La frecuencia de las enfermedades reumáticas en esta comunidad fue del 43.3%. La Osteoartritis
fue la enfermedad más frecuente (68 casos, 22.7%) seguida del Dolor Lumbar Bajo (23 casos,
7.7%). El índice general de incapacidad fue de 0.48 (DS 0.73), afectó al 17% de la población
encuestada con alguna enfermedad reumática. La enfermedad con mayor incapacidad asociada fue la
Osteocondromatosis (0.80 DS 1.32). Las enfermedades reumáticas predominaron en el sexo femenino
(93 casos, 71.4% de los casos positivos). La mayoría de los casos tenían de 35-39 años de edad
(19 casos, 14.6% de los casos positivos). El dolor estuvo presente en 121 casos con enfermedades
reumáticas (40.3% de los encuestados).
