Five pieces of knowledge in scientific research competency formation from a pedagogic professionalization approach

Introduction: In order to bring practice and education closer and to adequate the professional formation to social needs, the term competence has been assumed by Higher Education these last years.
Objective: The article has the goal of operationalizing the essential aspects to develop taking as a starting point the formation of scientific research competence, from a pedagogical professionalization perspective.
Development: University professor´s permanent formation needs precising the design foundations that respond to this type of formation. Due to its tight bonds with practice these basis should gather the aspects to develop in order to assure a professional performance that relates to the competence to be formed.
Conclusions: Developing competencies in university professor permanent formation has a large number of advantages to potentiate their professional performance as a current demand in Cuban Higher Education.
