Factores de riesgo de osteoporosis en el adulto mayor

La osteoporosis y su complicación la fractura, afecta a un número elevado de adultos mayores, por lo que constituye una preocupación para pacientes y médicos. Es la enfermedad ósea metabólica más prevalente, constituyendo un serio problema de salud dada su alta morbi-mortalidad y por los altos costos directos e indirectos relacionado con su atención. Los factores de riesgo modificables de la Osteoporosis como el sedentarismo, el peso, la nutrición, los estilos de vida inadecuados, juegan un papel importante en la génesis de esta enfermedad. Se realizo un estudio descriptivo, observacional, a fin de identificar los factores de riesgo modificables de osteoporosis en los ancianos del Consultorio Nº 5 del Policlínico “Mario Muñoz” Varadero, encontrándose que el género predominante fue el femenino, el color de la piel el blanco, destacándose los factores de riesgo el sedentarismo unido al consumo habitual del café y el tabaco, prevaleció entre las afecciones crónicas no transmisibles la Hipertensión arterial. Se destacan como los medicamentos de mayor utilización los anticálcicos.Downloads
