Efectividad del masaje y la kinesiología en las lesiones de partes blandas del hombro

El hombro es una de las articulaciones de mayor complejidad del cuerpo humano por las características anatómicas de los diferentes elementos que la forman y por la gran variedad de movimientos que puede realizar. Tiene el inconveniente del elevado índice de Lesiones de Partes Blandas, siendo uno de los motivos más frecuentes de consulta. Estas lesiones del hombro cuyos síntomas fundamentales son: dolor, limitación y atrofia, le producen al paciente una discapacidad en las esferas física, social, económica y laboral. Se realizó un estudio para evaluar a 63 pacientes con Lesiones de Partes Blandas del Hombro que acudieron a la consulta de fisioterapia del Servicio Nacional de Reumatología en el Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico “10 de Octubre”, durante el primer semestre del 2007, los cuales recibieron tratamiento conservador. El objetivo de la investigación fue demostrar la efectividad del tratamiento conservador evaluado por la Escala de Valoración Funcional del Hombro teniendo como resultados, que a los 6 meses, más del 80% de los pacientes fueron evaluados de Bien y Excelente. El sexo femenino predominó en todos los grupos de edades siendo mayoritario entre 46-55 años para un 38.1% y la mayor parte de los pacientes eran trabajadores con un 47.6% del total. La Patología que más se diagnosticó fue la periartritis escapulohumeral con el 53.9%.
