Mesoterapia en pacientes con Fibromialgia

Se realizó un estudio prospectivo preexperimental en el Policlínico Universitario Santa Clara en el periodo de septiembre 2006 al 2007 en pacientes diagnosticados con Fibromialgia utilizando como tratamiento Mesoterapia, este consiste en la infiltración de pequeñas cantidades de fármacos intradérmicos en puntos dolorosos, en este caso lidocaina al 2% ,teniendo como objetivo evaluar el efecto terapéutico de esta técnica. La muestra estuvo constituida por 22 pacientes de sexo femenino, raza blanca, con edades entre 40 y 59 años .Para evaluar los resultados se utilizó la escala analógica visual para el dolor, la disminución en el numero de puntos al final del tratamiento, el test de Waddell para incapacidad funcional. Se concluye que el efecto terapéutico de la mesoterapia fue satisfactorio logrando una reducción de los puntos dolorosos con una media muy significativa al final del tratamiento, así como una disminución en la incapacidad funcional siendo el tiempo de remisión de dolor menor e igual a 6 sesiones.
