Se desarrollo un estudio prospectivo que incluyó 10 pacientes pediátricos de ambos sexos, procedentes de varios municipios de la provincia de Villa Clara egresados del Hospital Pediátrico José Luis Miranda de la ciudad de Santa Clara desde 1995 y que cumplieron con los criterios establecidos para el diagnóstico de enfermedad de Kawasaki. El 70 % de los niños tenían una edad inferior a los 5 años, predominando los menores de 3 años. La fiebre, los cambios de la mucosa oro faríngea y la descamación de la piel fueron criterios constantes en nuestra serie, las manifestaciones articulares constituyeron en nuestro reporte las de mayor incidencia, asociados a los criterios clínicos clásicos establecidos ,en 5 pacientes se realizó un diagnóstico tardío. De los exámenes complementarios, la eritrosedimentación fue un parámetro que se alteró en el 100 % de los pacientes, la ecocardiografía se realizó uniformemente a todos los niños mostrándose alteraciones coronarias en tres de ellos (30%). La respuesta fue satisfactoria en el 100 % de los pacientes al tratamiento con ASA e Intacglobin con caída de los picos febriles a las pocas horas después de iniciado el tratamiento en la totalidad de los enfermos.Downloads
