La uveítis como manifestación inicial de la espondilitis anquilosante. A propósito de un caso.

La uveítis ocurre en el 20-40 % de los pacientes con espondilitis anquilosante y puede preceder a la afectación articular.
Objetivo: presentar un caso de asociación de uveítis con espondilitis anquilosante en sus primeros estadios.
Método: se presenta un caso que remite a la sospecha de espondiloartropatía ante la recurrencia de uveítis.
Conclusiones: la uveítis como manifestación inicial de la espondilitis anquilosante no es un hecho poco común, con lo cual debemos tenerlo presente al implicarnos activamente en su diagnóstico. Una abundante evidencia científica apunta a la necesidad de elevar la sospecha clínica para el diagnóstico temprano de espondilitis anquilosante; el cual requiere, sobre todo, de la exclusión de esta patología ante la presencia de uveítis a repetición. Debido al carácter invalidante de esta entidad nosológica es relevante el diagnóstico precoz, con el objeto de mitigar o eliminar las secuelas en esta enfermedad, esperamos que el caso expuesto contribuya a este propósito
