Nutritional considerations during the COVID-19 pandemic

This article aims to reflect on some recommendations related to nutrition in times of a COVID-19 pandemic. It starts from the basis of nutrition as a modulating agent of the immune system, the main system affected in SARS-CoV-2 disease. The influence of adequate nutrition as a therapeutic agent in this type of disease and some popular myths in Ecuador on this subject are analyzed. Nutritional recommendations are made to maintain adequate nutritional status in times of pandemic.
