Clinical, electro and telecardiographic manifestations in a series of patients with systemic sclerosis
Keywords:

Introduction: Systemic sclerosis is a chronic connective tissue disease characterized by vascular dysfunction and microvascular alterations that lead to ischemia and fibrosis of tissues and organs, including the cardiovascular system.
Objective: To characterize the cardiac manifestations from the clinical, electro and telecardiographic point of view in patients with systemic sclerosis.
Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out in patients from the Reference Center for Rheumatic Diseases, from January 2018 to march 2020. Sociodemographic, clinical, electrocardiographic and radiological variables were analyzed. Chi-square and Fisher's exact tests were used to identify association; Linear trend was used in the variable time of diagnosis.
Results: The diffuse form was present in 69,6 %; there were 28,2 % of patients between 50 and 59 years of age. The female sex was 92,95 %, those with non-white skin 57,6 % and with more than 10 years of diagnosis there was 36,6 %. Dyspnea on exertion was the most frequent symptom with 68,2 %. Heart murmur was evidenced in 18,8 %. Ventricular hypertrophy was observed in 31,8 % of cases.
Conclusions: The frequency of cardiovascular pain was significant; exertional dyspnea was the most frequent symptom described by the patients and heart murmur, the most identified finding in the physical examination.
