Artroscopia de rodilla en niños y adolescentes bajo régimen ambulatorio: 5 años de experiencia

Se realizó una revisión de 505 historias de anestesia de igual cantidad de niños y adolescentes sometidos a cirugía artroscópica de la rodilla bajo régimen de anestesia ambulatoria en un periodo de 5 años (1996 – 2000) , con el objetivo de analizar la indicación de anestesia ambulatoria en la práctica de la artroscopía de rodilla en éstas edades y su repercusión económica en nuestro hospital.
Del total antes mencionado fue posible la aplicación del método ambulatorio a 418 pacientes. No se reportan complicaciones inherentes a la cirugía artroscópica y bajo índice de complicaciones (6%), dependientes del proceder anestésico. Se demuestra que la aplicación consecuente de la cirugía ambulatorio representa una reducción altamente significativa de gastos hospitalarios.
