Artritis Reumatoide. Aplicación de la Terapia no Convencional en Cuba

La Artritis Reumatoide constituye una entidad clínica con elevada frecuencia entre las diferentes poblaciones reumáticas del mundo. Múltiples han sido los enfoque terapéuticos que se han aplicado hasta hoy; y los resultados alcanzados aún distan mucho de lo deseado. La discapacidad y mortalidad van en aumento pese al uso de drogas dirigidas a mitigar el factor inflamación que preside la enfermedad, así como otras terapias dirigidas a modificar el curso evolutivo y progresión de la enfermedad actuando como drogas de segunda línea, modificadoras de la enfermedad. En el mundo la utilización de las terapias no convencionales o Medicina Tradicional y Natural resulta una práctica común, para algunos evaluada como un problema económico y de salud. La Artritis Foundation estima que cerca de 2 billones de dólares se gastaron en 1982 con el uso de estos remedios y la American Medical Association ha estimado el costo de los tratamientos no convencionales en todos los aspectos de la salud como Billonarios. Sin embargo, no todas las formas de tratamiento convencional disponen de un sólido basamento científico y existen terapias alternativas y tradicionales con reconocida interpretación a la luz de las ciencias que han logrado un notable alivio y mejoría a diferentes dolencias de índole reumático, dentro de eilas la Artritis Reumatoide, lo que avalamos en el presente trabajo.
