Un acercamiento a la docencia, asistencia e investigación reumatológica en la región oriental de Cuba : Consideraciones a partir del Primer Encuentro territorial Reuma-Santiago 2016

Introducción: Desarrollamos una visita de trabajo a la sede docente de la reumatología oriental situada en el hospital Provincial Saturnino Lora con la asistencia de delegados e invitados de todo el territorio en una gran jornada.
Objetivos: Nuestro objetivo general fue participar en el V encuentro territorial de provincias orientales en calidad de directivo de la Sociedad cubana de Reumatología y de su grupo nacional. De manera específica, desarrollar un fructífero intercambio con los reumatólogos de la región, mostrar nuestras experiencias, enseñar y aprender con este numeroso colectivo In Situ, y así poder aquilatar la medida actual del desarrollo de la reumatología en esta región, la calidad que ostenta en la asistencia, la docencia, y formación de las habilidades y conocimientos entre los un reumatólogos, tanto en formación como una vez formados.
Métodos : Como metodología utilizamos como herramientas de evaluación la malla curricular de los profesores, sus conocimientos acerca de los aspectos pedagógicos básicos, habilidades, sus experiencias en la formación profesoral, el cumplimiento y apego a los programas de formación vigente en la educación superior y en el campo de la reumatología.
Resultados: Este contacto se convirtió en un fructífero intercambio y puesta al día sobre diversas patologías reumáticas complejas atendidas en el servicio, discusiones de caso y presentaciones por los educandos y profesores. Se realizó una mirada retrospectiva a todo lo hecho y a lo pendiente por hacer, como un buen punto de partida para el mejoramiento de la calidad de los servicios médicos especializados que se le brinda día a día, a los pacientes reumáticos de todo el territorio Oriental.
Conclusiones: La calidad de los servicios que se brinda en el orden asistencial, científico y docente resulta destacable en este centro hospitalario en la atención asistencial, docencia e investigación en reumatología y existe interés por superar las imperfecciones presentes. Probablemente este servicio podría ser el reflejo de lo que ocurre en el resto del territorio que lo compone luego del intercambio con los líderes opinión y expertos. Precisamos de otras visitas al resto del territorio para corroborar la impresión con que contamos.
