Stress is defined as the state of alarm of living beings in case of various challenges. Psycho-neuro-endocrine-immunology is a science that integrates the psyche with the nervous, endocrine and immune systems. It studies the multiple and complex interrelations among them, which allows us to deal comprehensively with the health-disease process. The alteration if the balance between the psyche and the aforementioned systems can cause damage to the organism, as in the case of some rheumatologic diseases.
