Estudio de los factores que predisponen a la osteoporosis en el adulto mayor

Estudio prospectivo longitudinal con el objetivo de conocer los factores de riesgo que influyen en la predisposición a padecer osteoporosis en la población mayor de 60 años perteneciente al área de salud del Consultorio 23 del municipio 10 de Octubre. Las personas fueron estudiadas a través de una encuesta la cual contempló aspectos generales, hábitos tóxicos, dieta, actividad física, diferentes medicamentos que facilitan la enfermedad, así como su conocimiento de los factores de riesgo para evitar o disminuir la misma. El universo de estudio se conformó por 125 pacientes en los que predominó el grupo de edad comprendido entre los que tenían 75 años o más y el sexo femenino. Solo la mitad de los pacientes conocían sobre los alimentos que aportan calcio, de ellos el más mencionado fue la leche.
