El rol de los casos clínicos publicados en la evaluación del desarrollo de procesos eficaces de razonamiento médico

Introducción: orientar a docentes y educandos sobre las diferentes formas de desarrollar el aprendizaje significativo no resulta tarea fácil. En particular, el desafío de desarrollar en los estudiantes el pensamiento crítico y la capacidad de realizar transferencias de conocimientos clínicos exige una cuota mayor de creatividad en el docente. En ello resulta de gran ayuda el estudio de los casos clínicos publicados.Objetivo: demostrar cómo a partir de un caso clínico publicado es posible crear una problemática, asentada en el aprendizaje basado en problemas, y un instrumento apropiado para evaluar el desarrollo de procesos eficaces de razonamiento clínico.
Desarrollo: se desarrolló una unidad didáctica de la materia Reumatología que tenía como objetivo desarrollar habilidades para el diagnóstico del síndrome de Behcet.
Conclusiones: se ha documentado, a grandes rasgos, una experiencia clínico-docente que deviene en estrategia orientadora para desplegar en los estudiantes el pensamiento crítico y la capacidad para comprender la complejidad de un caso clínico; promoviendo el desarrollo de procesos eficaces de razonamiento clínico y su evaluación mediante la aplicación de un instrumento, constituido por objetivos de aprendizaje, preguntas abiertas y rúbrica de evaluación tanto cuantitativa como cualitativa. El mismo ha contribuido decisivamente a constatar las competencias significativas alcanzadas por los estudiantes.
