The formation of specialists in Superior Medical Education. The importance of the mentor of specialty

Post graduate education is one of the main courses of action of work in Superior Medical Education in Cuba. Academic post graduate development in Medical Sciences has as a goal, to achieve a high professional competence and advances in order to create capability for investigation and innovation, which is identifiable with an academic title or a scientific grade. It must be conducted by an experienced tutor with a high scientific grade and pedagogic preparation. Considerations are done about the education categorization, the specialty tutors, the current residents, the position of the author and considerations about the topic.
